Ring-Zero Receives Ready for IBM Rational Software Validation for Bridging Development Testing with Requirements and Defects Test Adapter for QuickTest Pro Integrates the IBM Rational® Software Development Platform with Mercury Interactive® QuickTest Professional® ORLANDO, Fla. – June 5, 2006 – Ring-Zero Software (http://www.ring-zero.com) announced today that the company has been working closely with IBM to integrate its Eclipse-based IBM Rational Software Development Platform with QuickTest Professional, an automated testing tool offered by Mercury Interactive. This integration enables customers to leverage the Mercury tool within IBM development environments and bridges testing with requirements and defects. “Customers frequently struggle with the complexity of managing requirements, defects, and tests” said Michael Loria, vice president, business development, Rational Software, IBM. “Ring-Zero’s integrations provide simple project views of the overall software delivery cycle allowing IBM to decrease that complexity for our customers.” The Ring-Zero test adapters connects the large base of Mercury users with IBM Rational software delivery systems. An organization's Mercury tests can be easily used from within IBM Rational tools, including IBM Rational ClearQuest, IBM Rational Functional Tester, and IBM Rational Software Architect. Within the IBM Rational environment, the same interface is used to manage tests of all types, making the bridge transparent to end users. Rational ClearQuest defects can be easily created from Mercury test results. The complete test execution history is available at all times so that changes from one software build to another can be regressed properly. For many organizations which have sizeable investments in Mercury test tools and test assets, the ability to integrate these tools and assets with the IBM Rational software delivery system makes not just basic financial sense, but also enables teams to use the tools that are already in place. “Many Fortune 100 companies use Mercury for testing software and IBM Rational tools for software development and deployment.” said Michael Slater, Vice President, Software Development, Ring-Zero Software. “We are excited to help IBM unite the two camps with a single, jointly-developed solution. It’s a big win for customers of both IBM and Mercury, who are now able to reap the benefits of a streamlined development process.” Ring-Zero’s solution meets the Ready for IBM Rational software validation standards, and has received the Ready for IBM Rational software compliance mark. Validation ensures that key integration requirements have been met, resulting in quality products which seamlessly integrate into the IBM Software Development Platform.
