License Types

Floating, or concurrent licenses allow a product to operate on any computer. Concurrent licensing requires installation of the Ring-Zero License Server, which uses familiar flexLM technology. Depending on the product, floating licenses are available as perpetual licenses or annual term subscriptions. All Ring-Zero products, with the exception of RD-Move and DX-Protect, support floating licenses only.

Node-locked licenses are tied to a specific computer and allows the product to operate on that computer only. This type of license is not portable between computers. The Ring-Zero License Server can be used to dispense node-locked licenses to individual users, simplifying node-locked license administration. Node-locked licenses are available for RD-Move and DX-Protect only.
